Which document app fits your workflow?

Try the whole workflow with a document you actually use: capture, find, edit, understand and share. This guide gives you concrete checks and explains where ExplainThisDoc fits.

Start with your own task

Choose a representative document, such as a multi-page invoice. Define the result you need: find a line, add a comment, save a calendar event and share the edited file.

Use the same document and tasks in each app, then inspect the final result.

Check six parts of the result

  • Import: are all required formats and pages readable?
  • Search: does it search titles, notes or original document text?
  • Editing: can you save and reopen the required annotation or signature?
  • Analysis: which pages and text limits apply, and are dates, amounts and conditions correct?
  • Export: does the shared file contain your edits and open for the recipient?
  • Data and cost: what stays local, what is transmitted and what needs a purchase or credits?

Keep an invoice and its follow-up connected

In ExplainThisDoc, import the invoice, check its wording in the Reader and place a comment beside a question. Pro can offer calendar actions for suitable dates; it does not execute a payment.

Check the saved calendar event and reopen the edited PDF to confirm the result. Record the app version, settings and test date for your own comparison.

Choose how to analyze your document

Use local analysis for summaries and key facts on a supported iPhone with Apple Intelligence. Pro uses an external AI provider and credits. Current packages are available in the app.

Your archive lives on your device. Optional iCloud Sync keeps it up to date on your other devices through your private iCloud. You control archive sync and AI analysis separately. Read the privacy guide for the data paths and our comparison method for the tasks and steps we consider.
