How we check and illustrate our guides

These guides describe workflows in ExplainThisDoc. Each instruction should solve a concrete task and match the app view shown. Here is what our descriptions and images can establish.

Start with what you want to get done

Start with a verifiable result, such as finding a passage, saving a signature or opening a document on another device. Explain the required actions, checks and prerequisites.

Show the document and the app together

Descriptions are checked against product code and relevant app captures. English examples include the Harbor View statement, an insurance decision and the London–Amsterdam itinerary.

A calendar action is not a saved event. An annotation with unsaved changes only demonstrates placement. Saving and reopening remain separate checks. Capture dates can differ from article revision dates.

Compare specific tasks and workflows

The selection guide offers questions for your own comparison, not a measured ranking or blanket claims about other apps. A reproducible comparison needs the same file, task, app versions, settings and test date.

Who publishes these guides

ExplainThisDoc publishes these guides about its own app. They are not independent product tests. Report an outdated instruction or mismatched image through the contact page, naming the article and section.
